In the last week of January 2022, the second data collection of SIM2A was completed. In this experiment, the ATCos needed to supervise an automated sector and could interact with an advisory issued by automation. The advisory was either personalised to the individual or the group performance or optimised.

In December 2021 all Mahalo consortium partners participated remotely in the 11th Sesar Innovation Days.

In the first week of December 2021, the data collection of ATCo manual control performances was successfully completed. This data will be used to generate personalised and group conformance models (using the MAHALO supervised learning pipeline) that will be used as advisories in the final SIM2A experiment.

On 28th of October 2022 the first dedicated MAHALO workshop was completed. Interesting discussions were raised that could help shape the upcoming experiments.

On the 5th of October, Mahalo took part in the second edition of the ER-4 Automation workhop, where the AI Black box effect issues have been addressed. The Whorkshop focused on both Transparency and Conformance, highlighting the importance of making machine decisions more transparent, as well as able to match human strategies.

On the 3rd of September, Mahalo took part in the EGAGE workhop, where the AI Black box effect issues have been addressed. In the workshop the MAHALO project was introduced and discussed.

The MAHALO project’s Kick Off Meeting was completed June 11th over WebEx. Thanks to all the partners LFV Center for Human Performance Research (CHPR), Delft University of Technology (TUD), Linköping University (LiU), Deep Blue (DBL), EUROCONTROL and ANACNA, SESAR Joint Undertaking for the proactive participation.
